John L. Lincoln

John L. Lincoln, 74 of Glenwood, Iowa formerly of Pacific Junction, Iowa went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 27, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska to Shirley Clayton and Erma Lavine (Stivers) Lincoln, Jr. John graduated from Pacific Junction, Iowa in 1960. He was united in marriage to Deanna Jeanne Pulsifer on June 24, 1962 in Glenwood, Iowa. He resided in Glenwood a couple of years before moving to the family farm in Pacific Junction. He was proud of his heritage and family farm that was recognized as a Century Farm. He loved collecting and displaying articles from his father and grandfathers and could be seen sharing his love of antique tractors and his 1928 Ford Model A in the Glenwood Homecoming parade. He was often anonymously generous in many ways and known for his beautiful prayers. He was an Elder and Board member of the First Christian Church in Glenwood for many years and later became a member of the First Christian Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. John served on the Glenwood School Board, Mills County Fair Board, Glenwood Rotarian member, Glen Haven Board, Platteville Township Drainage District Board and Farm Service Co-op Board. He worked for the Mills County Roads Department for 2 years and farmed with his father and later; on his own for nearly 50 years. Following his parents passing, he and Jeanne moved from the farm to Glenwood. He will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Preceding John in passing were his parents, Shirley Jr. and Erma Lincoln; parents-in-laws, Woodrow and Eunice Pulsifer; sister-in-laws, Mary Kay Lincoln, Nancy Lincoln and Jackie (Jerry) Wright. Survivors include his wife Jeanne Lincoln; daughter Julie (Lincoln) and husband Marty Stavas; son Jim Lincoln all of Glenwood, Iowa; daughter, Mary Lincoln of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren Jonathon and Nicholas Stavas; Kathryn Lincoln all of Glenwood, IA and Sienna Lincoln of Omaha, Nebraska; brother Richard Lincoln; brother-in-law Donald and wife Nancy Pulsifer all of Glenwood, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Joyce and husband Don Cashatt of Red Oak, Iowa Jerri Lynn (Robert) Daniels of Council Bluffs, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.

Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Glen Haven Village Project or charity of your choice.
