Larry Lee Chambers, 82 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away June 19, 2019 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born July 7, 1936 in Carter’s Orchard, Mills County, Iowa to Leonard Leo and Verla Lorene (Farrington) Chambers. Larry resided in Backus, Minnesota before moving to Glenwood in 1954 graduating with the Class of 1955. He attended welding school at Metro Community College.

Larry was united in marriage to Marlene Hoffman on November 7, 1957 in Glenwood, Iowa. In 1959, Larry enlisted into the Army and later served in the National Guard. He was a litho mechanic for Continental Can now known as Crown Cork and Seal. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Larry was a fishing enthusiast and enjoyed going out to eat and being with family and friends. He especially cherished his time spent with “The Gang”. His kind and tender heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceding Larry in passing were his parents, wife Marlene, infant daughter Lynette, great-grandson Braydin Eckler and brother-in-law Larry Lybarger. Survivors include his children Lori (Gordon) Woodrow; Lee (Denise) Chambers, sisters Joyce (Steve) Mitchell all of Glenwood, Iowa; Jacquie Lybarger of Mountain Home, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; extended relatives and many friends.
