Dorothy Jeanne (Walker) Howrey, 76 of Glenwood, Iowa entered into eternal rest on September 13, 2006 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was born July 18, 1930 to William Howard and Dorothy A. (Raines) Walker at home in Omaha, NE. She attended grade school there until the family moved in 1942. The family then moved to Glenwood in 1944.

Jeanne attended High School in Glenwood and graduated with the class of 1948. She also worked alongside her mother at the Lee Dime Store for many years and was a waitress at the Winterset Inn in Plattsmouth, NE, 64 Club in Council Bluffs, IA, and Sundown Supper Club in Glenwood. She later worked for the State of Iowa Liquor Store and Mike’s Liquor until her retirement.

Jeanne loved to do craft and embroidery work. She looked forward to Bingo nights in Glenwood and always had time and desire to play cards and games. The greatest love of her life was her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge and Circle and Eagles.

Preceding Jeanne in death were her parents Bill and Dorothy Walker, brother Jim Walker and infant daughter Kathy Jo McGlade on Aug. 11, 1948. She is survived by her children Thomas Ray McGlade of Glenwood, IA; Patricia & husband Mick Mumm of Plattsburg, MO; John & wife Trescha McGlade of Glenwood, IA; Nancy & husband Richard Eustice of Glenwood, IA; Brad Allen Florian & companion Ann Kunkel of Neola, IA; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
