Genevieve E. Kain, 84, of Denver, CO, formerly of Silver City and Glenwood, IA, entered into eternal rest on Sept. 14, 2007 at her daughter’s home in Loveland, CO. She was born April 3, 1923 in Ayrshire, IA to Charlie and Eva (Hawks) Long.

She graduated from high school in Ayrshire and was united in marriage to Garold (Bud) McCain in 1941. To this union three children were born, Glen, Don and Rita. In 1955, Mr. McCain passed away due to an accident. In 1964, Genevieve married Arthur J. Kain and they moved to a farm on the Silver City Highway where they farmed. When they retired from farming, they moved to Glenwood, Iowa. Arthur passed away in 1993 and Genevieve moved to an apartment and eventually to Pacific Junction, Iowa. In May of 2004, she moved to Denver, CO until she became ill and had to move to Loveland, CO to be cared for by her daughter.

Genevieve had worked at the Glenwood Resource Center for many years. She loved to play poker, bingo and go to the Casino with her friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Preceding Genevieve in death were her parents, husbands, three brothers, Wilbur, Everett, and Earl Long. Survivors include sons, Glen & wife Beverly McCain of Denver, CO; Don & wife Candy McCain of Glendale, AZ; daughter, Rita & husband Lyle Saine of Loveland, CO; brother, Darlo & wife Joyce Long of Marshalltown, IA; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
