Donald “Donnie Lee” Hopp

Donald “Donnie Lee” Hopp, 72 of Glenwood, Iowa entered into rest on December 9, 2017 in Glenwood, Iowa. He was born on October 6, 1945 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Robert Morris and Mabel Marie (Menschel) Hopp. Donnie was a member of Silver Creek Go-Getters 4-H Club and graduated from Malvern High School in 1964. He attended Iowa Western Community College in Clarinda to become a draftsman. Following his education, he moved to Ames, Iowa where he worked for Bourn’s as a draftsman for five years. He returned to Mills County to farm with his father.

Donnie Lee had a passion for amusement parks, traveling with the Heritage Club, flying his plane and ultralights. He led an adventurous life with one of the highlights being on a flight on the Concorde jet.

Preceding Donnie Lee in passing were his paternal and maternal grandparents and parents. Survivors include his sister, Diane (Donnie) Schroeder of Malvern, Iowa; nephews, Rob (Meg) Schroeder and their sons, Drew and Grant of Glenwood, Iowa; Dustin (Amber) Schroeder and their son, Dylan of Malvern, Iowa; girlfriend, Diane Radford and her sons, Ryan (Danielle and her daughter, Tatum) Radford; Kyle (Sierra) Radford and his sons Jaden and Cooper all of Glenwood, Iowa; extended relatives and many friends.

Interment will be held at a later date.

A memorial fund has been established.
