Deanna Gale Johnson was born June 11, 1945 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Gail and Violet Decker. She was the youngest of 3 children. They lived on a farm north of Glenwood, where she was active in 4-H.

She married Steve Johnson and they had 3 children: Tina, Angie and Tony.

She worked for Campbell Soup for 6 years and the Glenwood State Hospital School, where she retired after 23 years in June of 2000. She then went to work at the Omaha Police Department and worked for 5 years, retiring in December 2007.

She passed away on August 9, 2008.

Family was very important to Deanna. She organized the Decker family reunions for over 20 years. She prided herself on the fact that her children and grandchildren have all remained close.

She enjoyed garage sales, bingo, reading, crafts, collecting horses, and most of all spending time with and spoiling her dog, Geillie.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years Steve Johnson of Glenwood; daughters, Tina Burnison of Pacific Junction and Angie Johnson of Glenwood; son, Tony Johnson of Silver City; sister, Julianne Dresher of Ericson, Nebraska; grandchildren Cody, son of Tony and Bobbi Johnson; Travis, Chelsey, Ryan and Whitney, children of Angie Johnson and Tony Wright; Ashley, Eric, Mitchell and Gary, children of Tina and Terry Burnison; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, Gail and Violet Decker; sister, Kathleen Droege and an infant brother.
