Darlene Pedersen was born September 3, 1930, in Hamburg, Iowa to
William Oliver and Betty Grace (Keys) McMurtrey.
On September 3, 1949 in Rockport, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Arthur John Pedersen and to this union, two children were born.
Darlene was a medical secretary at the Glenwood State Hospital School for over thirty years. She also sold Mary Kay cosmetic products for a number of years and continued to do so until recent weeks.
She was a long time active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood and was a former member and past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.
On August 10, 2007, at Tabor Manor in Tabor, Iowa, she entered into eternal rest at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 7 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Art; daughter, Darla Sell, son, John Pedersen, all of Glenwood, Iowa; (4) grandchildren, Dustin and wife, Jill, Sell of Emerson, Iowa, Mary Sell of Omaha, Nebraska, Joshua and Jesse Pedersen of Glenwood, (1) great grandchild, Jayme Parker Sell of Emerson, Iowa; sister, Mary Ann McCreedy of Glenwood, other relatives and many friends.
