Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One for over 100 years.

Cindi L. Hals

Cindi Lou Hals, 52, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at the Hospice with Heart in Glenwood, Iowa with her husband and children by her side. She fought bravely, but passed after her battle with cancer.

Cindi was born April 7, 1964 in Missoula, Montana to Elsie Anderson and Louie Vaughn. She grew up in Stevensville, Montana and later lived in Boise, Idaho and Parker, Colorado. Cindi married Alan Hals July 17, 1993 in Missoula and they were blessed with two children, Sierra and Trevor. The family eventually settled in rural Glenwood in 2003.

Cindi worked at Evans Equipment in Glenwood, before her health kept her from working.

She loved riding horses and motorcycles and was truly a down-to-earth country girl always speaking her mind. She was a dynamo in a petite body.

Cindi was a devoted wife and mother and loved her life in the country with their horses, dogs and cats. She was active in her kids’ lives, as a Girl Scout leader and 4-H leader and spent many hours riding horses with her family. She loved anything crafty, quilting, sewing, scrap booking and often crocheted things for the people in her life. You could always find her helping Alan around their place whenever it was time for clearing brush, taking care of the horses or cutting hay. Cindi was a steadfast, dear friend to many, always ready to help. She will be missed very much by her family and friends.

Cindi is survived by her husband Alan; daughter Sierra; son Trevor; father Louie Vaughn; brothers, Rex and Mark; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Anderson.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and close friends.

Memorials can be made to Hospice with Heart in her name.

Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood is in charge of arrangements.
