Carla Rodman

Carla Rodman, 46 of Watertown, South Dakota formerly of Glenwood, Iowa went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2016 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls after battling cancer for over three years.

Carla was a graduate of Glenwood Community High School in Glenwood, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Dick Rodman on February 13, 1992. They farmed until 1996 and then moved to Porter, Minnesota, where Carla attended Southwest University in Marshall, Minnesota. She was a computer science major and worked with Microsoft in Fargo for fifteen years. Carla was an amazing cook and worked in restaurants until she began working for Microsoft. She loved to go fishing and camping and attending Harvest Baptist Church in Watertown. She enjoyed singing in the Christian Group “The Makamis” She taught Sunday School, was the sound technician at church and the technical guru for KPGT Radio. Carla was involved in the children’s ministry and was adored by the children when “Stinky” the sock puppet came to town. She will be missed as a wife, mother, daughter and friend.

Preceding Carla in passing by her father Marvin Lane and brother, Danny. Survivors include her husband Dick Rodman, daughter Paige Rodman; son, Michael Rodman; mother and step-father, Barb and Ron Olson; brother, David and wife Lynette Lane; step-brothers and sisters, Terry Olson, Charlotte Alu; Bill and Jamie Gray; John and Mary Church and Wayne Olson; extended relatives and many friends.
