C. Joanne Chambers was born December 23, 1931, the daughter of Bill and Ruth Vanderpool. She grew up in the Malvern area and attended Mt. Vernon Country School and Malvern High School, graduating in 1949.

In 1951 she married the love of her life, Dale Edward Chambers, at Glenwood, Iowa. They made their homes in Omaha and Glenwood. Joanne and Dale’s marriage was blessed with six children; Linda, Debbie, Neal, Karen, Sharon, and Terry. They had been married 48 years when Dale passed away on July 2, 2000.

Joanne continued to live in the family home until July 2009, when failing health made it difficult for her to care for herself any longer. She lived the next 2 years at Glen Haven Nursing Home in Glenwood, Iowa.

Joanne passed away August 3, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents; W.C. (Bill) and Ruth Vanderpool, her beloved husband, Dale, 1 infant granddaughter and 1 infant great grandson.

She is survived by her children; Linda Castello and husband, Johnny of Wichita Falls, Texas; Debbie Haynie and husband Tim of Shenandoah, Iowa; Neal Chambers and wife Kelly of Glenwood, Iowa; Karen Cooke and husband Michael of Anchorage, Alaska; Sharon Yates of Red Oak, Iowa; and Terry Chambers and wife, Pam of Glenwood, Iowa. Also surviving her are many grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sisters; Patricia Cardwell of Des Moines, Iowa, Marlene Benedict and husband Dallas of Anchorage, Alaska; Eleanor Rubenking and friend Tex Meeker of Ogden, Iowa; sister-in-laws Lois Bowers and husband Ray of Beeville, Texas, and Alice Chambers of Des Moines, Iowa.
